Apple haven’t released a USB-C to Lightning interface-convertor. Nobody, other than Apple, will be aware of any intent to do so, if at all. Unfortunately, in this instance, interface conversion is more than just a physical plug.

At present, your available options are

1) to use headphones/earbuds with a USB-C connector (which will incorporate the necessary DAC).

2) ”standard” analogue headphones/earbuds with a 3.5mm plug - coupled to a USB-C adaptor (incorporating a DAC).

3) using a multi-way USB-C hub device.

Apple currently offer a proprietary solution for option 2, whilst for option 3 at least two third-party manufacturers have released custom hub devices for the new 2018 iPads. Other than that, AirPods are Apples targetted solution.

Thanks for the link!

Hope leaving feed back there helps.

I really like the new iPad Pro, but I also would like to use all the devices that worked fine with the iPad Air and lightning port.

Console One: for switch console port sessions

iRig Multimedia Pro: for analog to digital recording with Garage Band and others

WyPry Pro: for detecting WiFi issues

Focusrite Scarlet: A/D converter

All still work with the iPhone X Max ok, and all still supported in iTunes.

However all those devices on the iPad Pro now no longer possible due to new USB-C

I guess we are a drop in the bucket for those who need it.

At the same time though, Apple (or another company) has a potential money maker

for sales of adapters.

Yep, funny how there sales are down and they could generate cash with one these. I suspect though, they either can't, will not, or don't know how to accomplish it. Numbers of users that need it are very low. They will depend on original companies that made the product to bail them out.

After all, they will get royalties from each and every company that needs to make one vs them investing in the whole process and only get it sales on it.

Apple is not dumb. There going to suck as much cash as they can out of companies and people who buy there products.

Its not rocket science, its bean counters at Apple.

Maybe I have a good news for somebody. I have successfully connected my Steinberg UR 22 mkII audio interface to my new IPad Pro 2018 :

Ur22 USB B USB A cable to Apple USB A USB c adapter. It works very well with all my audio apps (garage band Cubasis Audiobus etc)

My Steinberg audio interface has a switch to be powered through a 5v powerbank and switchs on when is connected to IPad Pro.

Hope it helps. I believe that with this method could be connected any audio interface. The good news is that the apple adapter is ok for audio transfer too.

Now I would like to try also a direct cable USB B USB C without the adapter.

all the best to all

I also just purchased the 3rd Gen iPad Pro when my original (2.5yr) iPad Pro died; I had invested in several MIDI adapters; one of which, made by KORG had a lightning plug that plugged into the iPad and had MIDI, Audio and Power (for the iPad) connectors.

I've yet to find an adapter or similar device that'll power the iPad, provide me (lag free) audio for my mixer and be the MIDI interface for my keyboards and my (also an investment) numerous IOS Music generating apps. Im hoping someone is quicker to market with a USB-C Midi - IpadPower - Audio interface adapter. Midi wise Im pretty much dead in the water; unless I'm really missing something basic here.
