I need to find all my hevc encoded movies in a folder using finder on MacOS Mojave. I've tried searching for movies using the HEVC codec. But it still not giving me the correct results. Are there any search criterias that would help me accomplish this?

Spotlight, or Finder window search: kMDItemCodecs:hevc or simply codec:hevc

thank you... I also have some mkv encoded in hevc. However, using all the info above these are still being shown, I looked at the info using VLC and they show up there as x265 hevc, so I don´t know why they´re still showing up.

I think that worked but, how can i search for not HEVC, meaning all those movies that are not encoded hevc.

You didn't ask me but this is how I'd do it…
kind:movie +.mp4 -(codec:hevc)
or
name:.mp4 -(codec:hevc)
Wildcards are not supported.
or…
kind:movie -(codec:hevc)
if you happen to have more formats than mp4s as I do.

I don't know. I only have one .mkv file with the same codec listing and it shows as well.
