iPad Pro 11” dropping WiFi or so it seems

New iPad Pro just loses connectivity to internet/WiFi for no obvious reasons many times a day - all other wireless devices on the same WLAN function correctly while I have an issue - what’s up with that?

This is a consistent problem when the Apple USB-C to headphone adapter is plugged in and the iPad goes into Sleep Mode. When the iPad is awakened, the Wi-Fi loses connection. Unplugging the adapter restores Wi-Fi connection after a few seconds.

I tried replacing the Apple USB-C adapter and even returned my iPad Pro 11 for a new one. The same problem occurs.

I have the same issue. I don’t recall it was triggered by an iOS update (and it persisted after updating to 12.1.1), and I don’t use USB-C dongles when it occurs. For the first month all was well, but since a couple of days wifi connection is dropping out even when the iPad is not sleeing. My iPhone stays connected to the wifi, also when it is next to the iPad.

Any folks experiencing the same? The Apple tips on not being able to connect to Wifi don’t help resolve this.

Just upgraded to the Apple ipad pro 11” 2018 model for both myself and the wife... we are both having problems with wifi drop out at home, connection for one hour then drop out... reconnect and repeat... spent a considerable amount of cash and yet we both have the same problem. I am reading this is a known and common problem with the new iPad pro... is Apple intending to release a patch to address this?

I have a new IPad Pro 11 inch and have the same connectivity issues but no dongle or headphones. At first I thought it was the Folio Keyboard but it is not. Thee is no consistent action. It just happens. I thought it was when it went to sleep and came back up but I have had it happened while in Safari and using the web. The router shows connected but won’t go to any page. Everything else works with the router. We have a regular IPad and two IPhones and the kids come over with Apple products. Everything works fine except the IPad Prfo. Apple is replacing it but I worry that the problem will persist since they can’t find anything wrong with the unit

Is there a way to get this information beyond our group and to someone who’s an actual Apple employee who can advocate on our behalf? It sounds we all have similar issues. I don’t use my USB C for anything other than charging. So though the problem may happen when using USB headphones, etc., it seems to be an overall defect. At his point we’re just getting corporate speak denial from the Apple store employees. We need to find a way to get this escalated higher up. Any ideas?

One ironic fact: Apple support wanted me to connect to ITunes on my pc to obtain some logs. My IPad Pro came with a usb-c connector on both ends; no full size usb. I don’t use ITunes but I couldn’t if I wanted to without buying a 19 dollar adaptor. I declined to buy one. What “genius” thought this was a good idea? The lightning connectors have a USB connector on the other end so you can connect to a pc, any USB port or the plug in.

After a total of over six hours spent at an Apple store or on the phone I am about ready to ask for my money back. I will wait and see what they come up with in the nest week or so.

Update: the test where I deleted all personal data and apps and tested the base iOS prior to upgrading to 12.2 did not work, just in case anyone wanted to know this. This means to me that the issue was definitely with Apple software (since my iPad Pro had already been replaced once, indicating that it was not a hardware issue).

I then put back all of my personal data and apps and upgraded to 12.2. I have not had much opportunity to test, but I’m hopeful with everyone else that 12.2 has fixed the issue! I haven’t seen any random drops so far.
