outgoing mail suddenly cannot be sent due to server verification denial
My outgoing mail is being stopped and a popup message says "Mail can't verify the identity of the server "mail.twc.com".The certificate for this server is invalid. You might be connecting to a server that is pretending to be "mail.twc.com" which could put your confidential information at risk. Would you like to connect to the server anyway?
Then at the bottom is a ? mark, a show certificate button, a cancel button, and a continue button.
When I clicked on 'show my certificate' for the first outgoing email I tried, I first got the message the certificate had expired.
After a second outgoing mail was tried, I got the message of a 'dnvrco-oedge-vip-email.rr.com' Root certificate authority which was good until September 30, 2019 but there is a message that "this root certificate is not trusted". with the option to
I am using my iMac with OS Sierra 10.12.6
I don't know whether I can trust the server or not or what to do.
I took a screen shot of the first certificate.
I just went back to re-read the certificate, clicked continue and the emails seemed to to. I didn't click "Always Trust" so I don't know what to expect. I spent a lot of time on this message so will send it anyway just in case I have the same problem, or that the outgoing mail didn't actually go. I may need to return. Thanks, Silverfox.
