Bluetooth not working after wake from sleep

I have the exact same problem as another user on the forum. My bluetooth issues (on a 27" 2015 iMac) seem to have started after upgrading to MacOS 11.14 Mojave and also replacing an old failed mac wired keyboard with a new bluetooth apple extended keyboard. First the bluetooth magic mouse wouldn't work after waking the computer from sleep. Then I realized the both of the bluetooth devices (mouse and keyboard) weren't working after waking from sleep. Had to dig out an old wired mouse to keep going. The bluetooth devices would sometimes resume working after a while. Rebooting the computer also works, but is a pain. I've tried the suggestions to both delete the plist file and to reset the bluetooth module ... neither of those did anything to help. Any suggestions?

I've had this same issue for months.... and Apple Support pointed me at a long shot... that worked:

The application Android File Transfer was the culprit:

1) Move Android File Transfer from Application to the Trash, and empty the trash.

2) Delete the folder Application Support/Google/Android File Transfer from both ~/Library and /Library

3) Delete Android File Transfer Agent (if it's still there) in System Preferences > Users & Groups > Login Items

Finally:

4) Reboot.

I used to have the bluetooth disconnect after wake from sleep issue two or three times a day for months. Did this - and bang! Hasn't happened in a week!
