macbook pro won't forget wifi network

We vacation at the same place every year. This year the wifi wasn't working well and I learned that they changed the password. However, somehow I'm still connecting automatically and I haven't changed anything. Not sure how that's happening but I suspect it's causing my performance issues. I've disconnected, told prefs to forget the network, no auto login or join, etc. Restarted. I need to enter the new pw, but every time I select the resort wifi my Mac just logs in without asking.

I've gone to keychain and removed any references to the network I could find. It still joins automatically. What am I missing? I need to wipe this network clean from my OS so I can get a clean start.

MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013), macOS High Sierra (10.13.5)
