Flooded with "System Extension Blocked" popups

iMac with High Sierra, all upgrades. Started receiving cascades of "system extension blocked" messages, 4 or 5 at a time, all tiled on top of each other. Going to prefs/security to check OK on the usual dialogue box, no OK box was found. Have worked hours with Apple tech support to no avail. The messages go away, then come back every minute or so. Maddening. Have run out of usual options (multiple OS reinstalls, clearing out of startup items, checking through applications etc for unusual files) Has anyone else seen this? Anyone have a solution? Need to understand why the usual approval checkbox doesn't appear when the blocked extension message is received. Bennett

Then the only thing I can offer is to have you run an EtreCheck report and post it so that we can help you try to discover what the issue may be.

(Note: The EtreCheck report does NOT contain any personal information.)

  • You can download EtreCheck fromhere.
  • Start EtreCheck from a normal user account. Optionally, you can run it from a user account with Administrator privileges.
  • Select a problem from the drop-down menu to enable the "Start EtreCheck" button. Optionally, you can add comments on what issues your Mac is experiencing, especially to aide others with similar Mac issues.
  • Click on Start EtreCheck
  • Allow the program to run to completion.
  • When done, select Report from the left-side window to display it.
  • Select the "Share Report" icon.

    Select Copy Report

  • Paste the report to your reply post.
