I have a 2016/17 MacBook first GEN. I disabled all associated accounts and perform Cmd-R. I have the erased the disc via disk utility and performed Cmd-R again. I selected Reinstall OS X. As I go through the steps, I arrive to select the disk where you want to install OS X. However, there is no disk available to select. So, what am I doing wrong?
The 2017 model came with 10.12.5 pre-installed. You cannot install anything prior. The 2016 model came with 10.11.4. Yosemite is 10.10.x so it cannot be installed on these models.

If the disk or SSD was not erased and re-formatted as GPT, erase and select that and try again. And use 10.11 El Capitan, and not 10.10 Yosemite, or later. If you really need an older release, install a virtual machine on a newer release, and load the older release as a guest.

I was incorrect and figured it out. Yosemite is 10.10, and I needed to create a partition, and then I could see the disk to reinstall the OS. Thanks to all.
