My home button is broken 🥺

Recently I dropped me iPhone 7 in about 2 or 3 inches of water, the iPhone 7 is supposed to be ip67 rated and I read it can withstand 3.3 ft for 30 minutes, when I dropped it I pulled it out immediately. But now when I tap my home button it clicks and when I press it, it double clicks. I don’t know why this happened but it doesn’t make sense. Can someone please help me? I already tried the hombutton tab in settings.
