macbook pro 15" 2017 screen loose hinge?

My mbp seems to have a loose hinge, machine is only a few months old and when I bring the screen/lid down (to close) half way, it stays in that position but as soon as I tap it down a bit more, the lid just closes all the way down.

this is not by design, this just started happening.

my wife's macbook air from 2013, screen/lid is still stiff.

is there a recall, just like the butterfly keyboard problem?

If i take it to a genius bar, what's going to happen, are they going to charge? this is an expensive machine and these issues should not be happening period after only a couple of months.

anyone else having this issue?

Make an appointment at the Apple Genius Bar for service. If you need to find an Apple Store - Find a Store - Apple. If you did not purchase it from Apple then you will need to look to the vendor for service or How to find your nearest Apple Authorized Service Provider (AASP) or Distributor (AAD).

luckily it is under warranty. I took it in yesterday and they will fix both (keyboard and screen loose hinge).

I think the keyboard issue should be treated as the "exchange keyboard program" (or Recall). The 'genius' said to submit my two issues under warranty.

I'm supposed to return to the apple store by early next week. I will update this thread then...
