How can I upgrade my movies to 4K/

I just saw a sale on Harry Potter 4K movies. When I got the movies from codes a long time ago, the movies were in HD.

When I try to purchase them in 4k, iTunes won't let me. I just see the Play/Download button and I can't even get access to the features available in 4k. How do I resolve this? I hope this makes sense.

Apple don't appear to have a paid upgrade program at this time. Some content is upgraded automatically. I don't know how that is controlled. See Find and watch movies with 4K, HDR, Dolby Vision, or Dolby Atmos - Apple Support. I note from another thread that movies obtained through Movies Anywhere don't seem to be eligible.
