photos slideshow randomizing export

I have 120 photos in an album.

At the top of the page, if I click on SLIDESHOW, a window pops up with PLAY SIDESHOW.

It plays fine and is in the order of the photos from left to right and then the next row.

BUT if I select FILE > EXPORT > CREATE SLIDESHOW from the menu, it randomizes and drops some photos from the slideshow? Why?

There seems to be no menu option that says randomize my order?

AND I'm not doing anything else. IT ALSO STILL READS 117 PHOTOS BUT CLEARLY THERE ARE SOME MISSING (EASY TO SPOT MISSING DIVIDER JPEG'S I ADDED).

Confused?

MacBook Pro, macOS Sierra (10.12.4)

I cannot test with the File > Export > Slideshow option. My Mac is running Photos 4.0 on Mojave, and there this command is always dimmed.

But Photos has a weird glitch with the sorting of items in a slideshow. Photos never respected the sorting of the photos in the album, when we used the File menu to create a slideshow.

Try the "Create" command in the contextual menu, when you select the album in the sidebar.

Ctrl-click the album. Then select "create > Slideshow".

This will create a saved slideshow project, and hopefully the sequence of photos will be the same. Then use the "Export2 button to save the slideshow as a video.

But even this way the slides may be slightly rearranged, if you are using a fancy theme with more than one photo per slide. Only Ken Burns or Classic will respect the original order of the slides completely. The other themes may rearrange the photos to fit the templates.
