Why does it say “no profiles are currently installed” on my Profiles section?

I use an iPhone 6S running on iOS 12. Recently, I have noticed a Profile section appearing on my device, but when I clicked it it says “no profiles are currently installed.” After doing so, the Profile section disappears but reappears whenever my phone is turned on again. I have never installed a profile on my device and I am worried that this is a sign that my phone has a virus, or malware or spyware etc. Is this the case or is it just a glitch?

i have attached the pictures for references. to be clear, my phone is not jailbroken, my data and battery usage is normal and i have not clicked on a suspicious link. I have also activated Find My Iphone and it shows my location correctly. Should I be worried? I would appreciate an answer on this.User uploaded fileUser uploaded fileUser uploaded file

Profiles are used to put certain configurations on your device. Things like the iOS beta program profile or a VPN profile. When it says "No profiles are currently installed," it means just that - you haven't installed any profiles on the device. I would say a vast majority of people won't have profiles installed. Previously if you didn't have any profiles the option to open that section would be hidden and you wouldn't see Profiles in the Settings. It just looks like Apple has decided to show it for everyone and say that none are installed rather than keeping it hidden in the menu.

This isn't a reason to believe you have been hacked or that your device has been compromised.
