Is it safe to Mojave run on Mac OS Extended (Journaled) instead of APFS?
I am aware that Mojave runs on APFS, but somehow I managed to run it on Mac OS Journaled (Extended), and I was wondering if this is safe to run? I can't seem to get Bootcamp to install Windows whenever the disk is formatted as APFS (will get a disk partition failure msg), so what I tried was the following:
1. I made a copy of my Mojave Mac that was running on APFS with Carbon Copy Cloner and created a bootable hard drive with it.
2. I started my Mac in recovery mode, and formatted the hard drive as Mac OS Journaled (Extended)
3. I restored the APFS bootable clone of my Mac Mojave to my harddrive that I just formatted.
So now my Mac is running Mojave on a harddrive that is formatted as Mac OS Journaled (Extended). Bootcamp installs just fine on this.
Everything seems to be running very smoothly, but I am just wondering if it is safe to run it like this? Or what are the potential complications? According to my research Apple says Mojave can only run on APFS.
Thank you very much!
