MacBook Pro 2017 Fan noise interferes with microphone

Hi,

I have a 2017 MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2017, Four Thunderbolt 3 Ports; MacOS running 10.13.6 (17G65)).

The internal microphone seems to pick up the internal fan noise so that this microphone is entirely unusable. People on calls tell me it sounds like a jet engine is playing over their audio and they cannot hear me at all. Thus, I have to use an external microphone or headset while video conferencing (this happens in multiple programs -- Skype, Zoom, etc, so it is not a software specific issue).

The microphone is ok if the computer fan is not running, but the fan always runs within moments of using any video conferencing software.

Do others have this problem? Is there any fix? APPLE ENGINEERS: this is highly problematic. This was not a problem on my previous 2015 MacBook Pro.

Thanks.

This has never been a problem with any apple laptop I've ever owned, and I've owned apple laptops for the past 15 years. I use videoconference apps on a weekly basis, and never has the sound quality been so inhibited by the internal fan that I've had to use an external microphone. There is something different in this model, and it's TERRIBLE. This morning I realized I didn't have an external microphone, and actually powered up my old 2015 MacBook Pro so that i could make the call. Worked fine.
