Ok to clear the confusion - you mention it showed on your old phone. Do you mean it appear there once you started data transfer, that it got there from the new phone?

in either case, new or old phone, someone else name should never appear on the phone.

i suggest you bring it back to where you purchased and don’t wait.

Bring it back to where you purchased and show them what is happening.

They should not happen On brand new iphone.

Did you purchased from Apple or Apple authorized resellers .

Take it back and ask for your money to be refunded. You can suggest fraud if they don't appear to be willing to give you your refund.

Then, definitely take it back to where you purchased it so that they can clarify what happened. You should never see something unusual on a brand new phone.

As noted, you said in your original post this name was there on the old phone. If true, the "unusual phone name" issue existed before you got the new phone.

This is not something a return or refund will address, as Sprint did not cause the issue.

What happens when you try to change the name and how are you trying to do that?

You can change your devices name by navigating to Settings>General>About>Name and typing in whatever name you'd like your iPhone to have.

Is a real head scratcher.

I would think OP would have notice that name on the old iPhone before purchase of new iPhone¯\_(ツ)_/¯ But perhaps not. Curious how this play out.

I had the same question, if it was the name on their old phone that is the issue, not the new one.
