Importing Transitions into Final Cut Pro 10.4.4

Can anyone help me with importing some transitions into Final Cut Pro 10.4.4?

I created the folders 'Motion Templates' -> 'Transitions' -> 'My Stuff' and then pasted the 'Free Spin Transition'.

The Free Spin Transition includes a .motr file as well as a media folder and 2 large and small pngs.

I've tried closing out FCP and restarting and nothing is working. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Dale

You can use TextEdit to check to see if the template has been "themed" or not. Open the .motr file in TextEdit and search for "theme". If you find <theme>Free Spin Transition</theme> then don't do what I'm about to recommend. You might need to find installation instructions from the creator of the transition because there might be a specifically named folder in place of "My Stuff".

Regular transitions would be set up like:

Motion Templates > Transitions > FCPXCategoryName > transition

Themed transitions are set up like:

Motion Templates > Transitions > FCPXCategoryName > ThemeName > transition

Chances are you went one too many levels down:

Motion Templates' -> 'Transitions' -> 'My Stuff -> Free Spin Transition -> the rest...

Try taking out the My Stuff folder and moving up the Free Spin Transition OR move up the Spin Anti Clockwise into My Stuff and delete Free Spin Transition. Either way should work if it's not themed.
