I have just completed a Mac photo book. However, I was unable to buy it, as a message popped up saying that I could no longer purchase the book and to update 'Photos' before trying to buy again. I am having difficulty working out how to update 'Photos' and am not sure how to proceed. I checked my updates on iTunes & all is up to date. Any help would be gratefully received. Thanks.

Thank you so much for your help. I have actually used Presto Photos for printing my book, which is a huge relief, as it was for a very special occasion. My book is now ordered and on its way. Thanks again.
See if you can create the pdf file according to this Apple document: Preview a print project in Photos or iPhoto to avoid issues - Apple Support.
As of Oct. 1st of this year Apple is no longer providing print product services. They've outsourced it to several online providers.
Here are some more info on purchasing books: Post 9/30/2018 Printing Options for Photos. To upgrade Photos requires an upgrade to the system as Photo is now part of the system.
If you're able to create a PDF file of your book you can upload it to PrestoPhoto
for printing and binding. Several users have used them for their books and have reported favorably on the results.
For calendars if you're still able to print your calendar to PDF and have a FedEx Business and Print Center (formally Kinkos) nearby you can have them print and bind the calendar. Or some other printing service that can print and bind calendars.

Just seeing this information as I am having the same problem. Did not know the service was discontinued. Thank you for the information. Could you tell me how to create a PDF of my book? I can't see to move the pictures out of the book and save them anyway or anyplace else. Thanks for your help!
