iPod Touch won't sync with iTunes

Hello,

I have an iPod Touch 3rd Generation that will no longer sync with iTunes. iTunes recognizes the iPod and goes through the steps to sync. But no music is actually transferred.

I called Apple and they were no help.

I have completed a system reset, system restore and restore while in recovery mode. All seem to work as expected however, still cannot transfer music to iPod.

I am running Windows 10. iPod is running softwear 5.1.1 and iTunes is version 12.9.1, both of which are the most recent updates.

Any ideas on what to do next?

Thanks!

iPod touch, Windows 10

Try this.

You don't need to uninstall iTunes 12.9 first, but reinstalling using the following steps should help.

Download the current 12.9 installer for iTunes from https://www.apple.com/itunes/download/.

Unlock your iOS device and connect it to USB.

Reinstall iTunes from version that you've downloaded.

During the installation it should announce that a further software update is required.

Install that and iTunes should see your device.
