Live Photo as wallpaper on iPhone XR

Why can I not set a Live Photo as wallpaper on the lock screen on my iPhone XR? It doesn’t have the option in settings. When I select a photo which is live in my photos, it is still when it shows on the lock screen

It can't be added with with an iOS update. Live Wallpapers work on other iPhones because they feature 3D Touch. The Xr does not. 3D Touch is hardware. It requires a pressure-sensitive layer underneath the screen. How should this be added via software?

And the flashlight / camera icon on the lock screen works with Haptic Touch which is software.

It would be possible for Apple to enable haptic-touch based live wallpapers but we don't know how the final iOS 13 will look like on the Xr. We are not Apple, just Apple users like you.

"Despite the ‘bug fix’ version number, iOS 12.1.1 includes a couple of new user features. Perhaps most notably, FaceTime now

has an improved card interface exposing the flip camera button on the main screen and restores Live Photo functionality, which was available in iOS 11 but inexplicably removed in iOS 12.0. It also enables a handful of new complications for Apple Watch Series 4."

But we're already at 12.1.2 and at the moment it doesn't work on XR iphones....

I agree. I really hope that apple fixes this in the next update. I was really looking forward to using it and now I can’t.
