i have a new iPad Pro 12.9 and a pencil 2. When I first used the pencil I could have sworn it would ‘stick’ on any side of the iPad with the magnets in the iPad but now it only sticks to one side and one place on that side. Could the magnets inside the iPad have ‘moved’?

I habe the same iPad Pro 12.9 (2018 3 gen.) with the Apple Pencil 2 gen and the pencil only stick to the one side, nowhere else.

Those are the magnets for the smart cover/smart keyboard cover.
The one place on one side of the new iPad Pro is the place where the new Apple Pencil 2 attaches and charges.

I’m sure it sticks to back, I wouldn’t risk it because of potentially scratching it.
From what I read it only sticks to one place where there is a magnet inside.
As you most likely know magnets do not stick to aluminium.
Ok. Thanks. Must have imagined it! There are other magnets around parts of the iPad. I can stick the pencil on parts of the back!
