2006 10.7.5 and I need to update. What do I need to do?

I have a 2006 MacBook version 10.7.5 and I am needing to update to make iTunes compatible with my iPhone. What do I need to do? MacBook is saying there is no updates, but I am unable to update my iTunes or sync.

You need a newer computer. A late 2006 MacBook can't be upgraded past 10.7.5.
