items don't remove from dock?

Apps, such as Adobe, I open do not remove themselves from the dock when they are closed

Software is Mojave 10.14.1

Mac Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)

Open System Preferences > Dock. Uncheck "Save recent applications in Dock".

Right click on one & choose Options...>Remove from Dock, does that work?

Yes it works. But instead of happening automatically, I have to do each time; annoying.

That worked. I don't believe I had that turned on before upgrading to Mojave. Thanks

You're welcome. The setting didn't exist before Mojave.
