Windows 7 blue screen during installation on iMac Intel Core 2 Duo

I have a 32 bit copy of windows 7 ultimate that I am trying to install onto my iMac Intel Core 2 Duo from late 2006. I have no problem booting the disc and installing from the disc to the hard drive. The problem comes when setup restarts the computer and boots from the windows partition. I get the "starting windows" screen like normal but then it goes away and I get a blue screen reading "attempt to reset the display driver and recover from timeout failed" and I can't get past this to finish the installation. What do I do?
