How to select a single email address for a contact with 2+ email addresses in a group

I have created a group with a dozen or so members. Some of the members have more than one email address ... for example, a work address and a home address. How do I specify which of the two addresses should be included when sending an email to this group? Right now, when I specify the group as the send to address, everyone with more than one email address will receive my message at both addresses.

Thanks!

Select Edit Distribution List from the Edit menu and select the one you wish to edit.

For each person, select the address you want to use for that contact.

Right now, when I specify the group as the send to address, everyone with more than one email address will receive my message at both addresses.

That doesn't sound like how it has worked in the past. It would usually select the first one for each contact unless you changed it as described above. I'm not at a Mojave computer to check. People have complained about not being able to send to more than one, so maybe it was changed.

THANK YOU ... the screen shot clarified for MacOS (desktop). Unfortunately, this doesn't appear to work on iOS. I verified that the distribution was accurate on my Mac desktop (and tested it with Mac desktop email). Then I flipped over to my iPhone. After refreshing my address book (just in case) and then going to my mail client to send an email, all email addresses with two addresses listed were duplicated in the "to" field.

This example is from an office email distribution list, as seen on my iPhone ....

The identical list, when sent from my MacOS desktop mail client, does not duplicate the addresses.

Certainly FRUSTRATING!

Thanks for the desktop solution. Still hoping for an iOS solution.

I'm not seeing any of that. When I open MacOS or iOS Apple Contacts, I see the list of names in the group.

Clicking on any name with multiple email addresses brings up the contact card. Any attempt edit the contact card for the individual with multiple email addresses would result in removing the secondary email address entirely ... not just from the group, but from his contact card.

In this example, Michael Bucci has two email addresses (home and work). I want to send ONLY to his home address. I can find no way of adding only his home address to the "Cirrus Club" group.

There does not appear to be any way to edit the list of email addresses independently from the list of names, and therefore, any name with multiple email addresses will end up receiving two (or more) emails I send using this group as the "to" address.

Appreciate the continued ideation around this problem.
