Is Apple Watch activity tracker compatible with MyFitnessPal

I have just gotten The Apple Watch. I have previously used a Fitbit in conjunction with the app Myfitnesspal to monitor my calorie intake and caloric burn. I have been reviewing the various apps on the watch and don’t see how these apps can give me A number of calories over or under my goal. I see where I can determine my active And resting calories burned On the Activity app. I also see separate categories on the Health app for micronutrients based on food I have logged into MyFitnessPal. But I don’t see where the app shows total calories in and total out for the day. i Find it interesting that the Health app gets info from MyFitnessPal, but MyFitnessPal doesn’t get information from the Health app. My activity never shows up in MyFitnessPaL. What am I missing and where can I get a summary that shows the net of food and activity?

Hey Noodle-o.

In this case, your Apple Watch and iOS appear to be working. The issue here sounds like it's on the end of MyFitnessPal. While MyFitnessPal isn't an official Apple software, and therefore Apple Support Communities may not be the best place to troubleshoot it, a quick google of the topic comes up with this article.

To set up MyFitnessPal to register your steps, they recommend to

"First, launch the MyFitnessPal app on your Apple Watch. This will register it as a device. Second, launch the MyFitnessPal iPhone App, and visit More > Steps. Select "Apple Watch" as your step source. This choice will use data from both the Apple Watch and the M7/M8 chip in the iPhone through HealthKit to track your steps."

Hope this helps.

Hello Noodle-o!

As I understand it, you're wondering whether MyFitnessPal integrates with Apple Watch.

From my personal use, MyFitnessPal is able to take the number of steps from the Health app, but not any other data. However, if you log your food intake with MyFitnessPal, if you allow it to, it will update your Health app with the nutritional data of the items. This can be helpful to get a more whole understanding of your Health.

Best of luck!
