Mac Version is OS X Yosemite 10.10.5
iPhone Version is iOS12.1
When I connect my iPhone to my Mac to sync via iTunes - I get the follow error message: "To use your iPhone with iTunes, you need to install OS X 10.11.4 (or later)." YET - my Mac declares that all software is up to date.
So unable to sync, backup my iPhone.
Please advise

I'm not following the logic of having to "convert" to another Mac/Apple OS to solve a problem between versions on devices - more so in that converting to another OS type may create problems with other software on my mac that works well with OS Yosemite.
