How to STOP Group messaging on my daughters iPhone SE?

I am to the point to even turning phone service completely off! My child received 52 messages in less than two minutes from a bunch of 11-year-olds twits! I known there was no parent supervision at all (on their part) and these messages continue until into the late evening! Then we wonder what’s wrong with our society. How can we stop this crap!! I have tried to leave the conversation! I have blocked numbers! I have shut off group messaging! And nothing is working fix this please!!!!!!! Desperate mom trying to supervise a preteen!

Hi tsmalskas,

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities. I understand you're looking to stop group messaging.

You mentioned you've turned off a group messages setting; was that under Settings > Messages > Group Messages? This would prevent group messaging that are sent using SMS/MMS services. If you're still receiving group messages, it sounds like the people sending group messages might be using iPhones with iMessage. Do you know if that's correct? A good way to tell is by checking the color of the bubbles in the message; if they're blue, that means everyone in the group is using iMessage.

If you check your blocked contact list, do you see all of the numbers/contacts there that you want to block? Block phone numbers and contacts on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch :

Manage your blocked phone numbers and contacts

To see the phone numbers and contacts that you've blocked from Phone, FaceTime, or Messages:

Phone

Go to Settings > Phone > Call Blocking & Identification.

FaceTime

Go to Settings > FaceTime > Blocked.

Messages

Go to Settings > Messages > Blocked.

While there's not a way to fully disable group messaging in iMessage, you might consider checking out options to set up restrictions on the iPhone. You could set time limits, restrict access to apps (including Messages), and a number of other things that may help. Check out this link for the details on how to Use parental controls on your child's iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch .

Hopefully the information above helps you.

Take care.
