iPad mini 2 stuck on spinning circle when downloading from AppStore

hello,

i have an iPad mini 2 on iOS 12.1 that can’t download apps from the store. when I tap the download button it starts a spinning that never stops spinning. I have tried all troubleshooting steps in the book. If anyone has a Solution to this please share with me it’s getting really frustrating not been able to download apps.

I understand you're having trouble with apps getting stuck rather than downloading from the App Store. I know getting apps is a critical part of having your iPad, and I want to help you get that working.

You said you tried some troubleshooting already, were you able to run through the steps here?
If you can’t download or update apps, or if apps get stuck - Apple Support

If that doesn't seem to get your iPad downloading apps, we can try to isolate the issue further with some more steps.

Is this happening on Wi-Fi or on your cellular data connection? Have you had the opportunity to try a different connection?

To rule out a connection problem, test different connections, and try to reset the network settings. You can do that by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. This also resets Wi-Fi networks and passwords, cellular settings, and VPN and APN settings that you've used before.

Hi jeremiahojo,

Thanks for giving those steps a shot.

Since your iPad behaved normally for a time, it's likely you're having a connection issue and not any kind of software or account issue.

Does your iPad work if you try a different network connection?

If you're not able to try a different Wi-Fi, could you restart your network equipment like your modem/router?

Thanks for reaching out.

I have done all of the steps you suggested and still no change.

I even went as far as factory resetting the ipad. When i did, It downloaded a few apps and after a while it couldn't download again. Just stuck on the spinning circle.

Thanks for your response. I have actually tried downloading on different networks and its been the same. I also restarted the wi-fi and still no improvement. I can do other internet related things on the ipad eg safari,maps etc. the only problem is trying to download an app in app store or a book in ibook. it opens the store, displays the app but when i tap "get", it starts tha spinning that never stops and never downloads the app.
