All my titles in every iMovie project display twice. When the cursor scrolls over the numerals that indicate the duration of the title at the beginning (left) of the title, the title displays in the window as one line, and then as soon as the cursor gets past the numerals, the title displays on two lines. So the same title shows twice.
The effect is terribly annoying. Why does this happen and how do I get rid of it?

Thanks for your reply. I figured it out. Simple mistake. I thought I had chosen a centered title but it was “expand” so as I scrolled through the title which was very long it immediately jumped to two lines as it expanded. I couldn’t tell it was expanding because the the letters stayed the same size.

Hi,
Your profile indicates that you are using iMovie '11. iMovie '11 (aka version 9) is not fully compatible with operating systems after El Capitan. If applicable to you, that might be what is causing the problem, although I have not heard of duplicate titles being one of the issues.
If you are using iMovie 10, try opening iMovie while holding down the Option and Command keys, and selecting to delete preferences in the box that appears. iMovie will open in a new library. Reopen your old library to get to your projects. See if that cures it.
