Identifying icons in menu bar

Thanks, but that doesn't answer my question. My question is, is there a way to make the icons in the Menu bar as responsive as the icons in the Dock? At present, there is no way to easily determine what particular icons in the Menu bar link to. Sure, I remember some of them, but others are complete mysteries, and clicking on them is only the beginning of the search for their identities. When you point to the icons in the Dock, their identities are displayed. That's all I want for the icons in the Menu bar.

Some of the "possible" ways to improve the usability of the icons in the Menu bar might be as follows:

(1) Change the symbol to the name of the app, (2) Make them as responsive as are the icons in the Dock, (3) Move the icon from the Menu bar to the Dock

It may be that nothing can be done to improve the functionability of the icons in the Menu bar. In that case, I'll have to work around their deficiency, like trying to place the icons in the Dock instead of the Menu bar. I'm just looking for some kind of solution.

I know you mean well, but this doesn't help. I finally decided to delete the icons I didn't recognize (one couldn't be deleted). I even deleted some from my Dock. If I need them in the future, I'll probably be able to find them in my Applications.
