I lost lots of photos when my old iPhone was broken

I lost lots of photos when my old iPhone was broken and was just wondering if by chance I had them maybe backed up on my old iPhone cloud

Photos missing from iCloud backup I did an iCloud backup of my old iPhone 6. However, all of my photos taken between Sept. 2018 and May 2020 are missing from the backup. The old iPhone that I took the photos on is now inoperable. Is there a way to retrieve the missing photos, or are they lost on the broken device?
