wacom tablet wont cross screens! Help please

I just got a new Wacom tablet CTL 1600 WL. I work on MacBook pro, OS 10.11. 6 I’ve had an old wacom 4 and used dual displays, worked great until the pen went (I think). Got this new little tablet and I can not make it cross displays! CORRECTION: it crosses but stays on the very edge of the second display. Picture this set up, laptop on the right, monitor on the left. I can use the pen on the left monitor, but when trying to cross to the laptop screen it will cross but stays barely on the left edge of the screen. It doesn’t budge. I’ve been trying to fix it for two days now and talked to two Wacom people. I did all they told me: reinstalled the latest driver a few times after trashing all Wacom files; trashed the preferences; make sure the mapping is on “full”. I asked if it’s an issue with the tablet itself (makes no sense to me), but was told it’s a driver issue. what can I do? What else is there? I’ve googled and googled, but can’t find anyone with this problem. I am feeling like an idiot. Why is this so hard? Can any one help? Thanks
