Wacom tablet NO LONGER Working correctly on an iMac 27

I drawing comics. Through out December adn January I was unable to draw. Today I tried to draw on my wacom tablet. a Intuos 2 Model No XD-0912-U. MY stylus on the wacom will allow me to draw a line of two sometimes three. Or click on a menu item. THEN pen stop workings. Restarting allows me to draw few lines then it quits again. I have download the latest driver. STILL NO love.

I have attempted to contact Intuos but the claim they are being overloaded in customer support and are unavailable to response. I send a email.

Buying a new or newer wacom is not an option. Replacement stylus maybe?

The model Intuos 2 (XD0912) you have unfortunately is not compatible when using OS 10.13

Here you have a link to download the latest driver for this tablet compatible with OS 10.5, driver version 6.20-W4:

  • Disconnect the tablet from the computer
  • Open your Applications folder and locate any Tablet or Wacom Tablet folders you have
  • Use the Utility in each of these folders and click ‘Remove’ under ‘Tablet Software’
  • Once the software is removed, restart the computer
  • After restarting, repair your hard disk permissions using your Disk Utility (in your Utilities folder)
  • Once this is complete, download and install the 6.20-w4 driver from: http://cdn.wacom.com/U/drivers/mac/pro/WacomTablet_6.2.0w4.dmg

As always, make sure your tablet is connected directly to your computer. Avoid using USB hubs, keyboard/monitor ports, or docking stations with the tablets, as they can cause inconsistent behavior.

My Wacom Tablet has basically been working on every mac for numerous years. ON various occasion usually after MAC OS software updates my Wacom would stop working or NOT worry correctly. SOMETIME LATER there would be a driver update or some other fix.

IF I knew in advance updating my software with a software update or a new OS that afterwards. THEN I would not have updated my OS.

I have contacted Wacom and they blame APPLE in making their product not work as expected. Saying the last OS my wacom is expected to work with is 10.5. EVEN though I know my wacom had been working with 10.13.5

I have used macs since 1985 and very liked using a mac.

In addition I hope there was a software solution like a new driver or some other fix. Or at worst a hardware like problem.
