Mac OS Mojave: Unable to delete Facetime recents

Since the upgrade to Mojave the Facetime history has been clogged with the call history from my iPhone (though the Mac was not activated to receive any).

In order to clean that up I tried to use the menu item "Remove all Recents", both for "All" and "Missed".

Result: apply the function to "All" = list is empty. Then switch to "Missed", apply the function = list is empty.

Switch back to "All" = every entry is back, same with "Missed".

Tried to apply the same logic to single entries, same result.

Logged out and in to Facetime, no change.

Any body with the same problem?

MacBook Pro, macOS Mojave (10.14.1)

Why yes, those instructions work. They do not address the issued of all of the recent entries that you just removed coming back.

Follow directions and the recent entries are cleared and with in seconds they come back.

The original poster explained this also.

You can keep pointing to the same set of instrutions but it isn't addressing the problem of the recently cleared entries repopulating.
