my imac will not let me sign in using my password

I’ve tried to resent it with my Apple ID and then it asked for my iCloud password. I use my same password as my Apple ID and it won’t work.

Try resetting your password using the Reset Password Utility. Skip down to the Reset Password Utility section of this guide: Change or reset the password of a macOS user account - Apple Support
