Shared tab in sidebar disappeared after Mojave install

Since updating to Mojave (including the latest update 10.14.1), the Shared tab on my sidebar has disappeared. I can connect to other computers on the network using connect to server, but they then don't appear on the sidebar. Sidebar only shows Favorites, iCloud Locations and Tags. Under Locations, I can also connect through the Network link. I've seen this problem discussed in much earlier posts, but none of those solutions have worked for me. Anything new to try?
