All my smart mailboxes boxes appear empty. just prior to this yesterday the search didn't work and all mailboxes showed all the emails ( in the inbox . This happened 4 weeks ag as well and couldn't access back up from TM

Can I down load a new mail app from apple and replace the current one on Yosemite? I tried repairing permissions but has made no difference .

Mac Pro (Mid 2010), OS X Yosemite (10.10.5)
