Even if Office 2011 will forever stay 32 bit, why can't they just leave it alone instead of disabling it by taking away the save feature.

Only Microsoft can explain their decisions. But Office 2011 is completely unsupported software now, and they're trying to get people to stop using it. Mostly for security reasons I would imagine since any such flaws, from minor to severe will not be fixed.

I posted a link to the Insider page at Microsoft above.

How much you pay for Office 2019 or 365 depends on what you buy, and where from. The "what" being with, or without Outlook.

There are only two price choices for Office 365. $100 per year, or $70. The more expensive option allows you to install Office 365 on up to any six devices you want. That can be any combination of Mac, Windows or iOS. The $70 version is for a single device license.

Just about anywhere you look, the one-time cost perpetual license Office 2019 is $129 for the Home version without Outlook, and $229 with.

You purchase a newer version. Don't waste your money on Office 2016. It's been replaced by Office 2019. This, if you want a one-time cost perpetual license. Or, you can go with the subscription version, Office 365. It can be paid monthly or once per year.

I don't know if you already need to own Office to join.
