iPhone XR

I bought a new iPhone XR last week when my iPhone 7 decided to start acting wonky on me.

I was excited to get a new phone that had Portrait Mode. Woohoo, now I can take great pictures of my dogs and show them off in 3D on Facebook.

Imagine my surprise when I find out the XR doesn't let you take Portrait Mode pictures of animals. Just people.

Say what??? Are you flipping kidding me????

I have to say, this is the stupidest thing I have heard in a very long time.

Please, Apple. Rectify this in an update.

Understand that the portrait mode on the iPhone XR is handled by software, and not the actual portrait mode that was introduced a few years ago with the phones that have two camera lenses. That is what makes it so the portrait mode in the XR only is for people. The software is engineered to use a person's face to recognize how to deal with the background work.
