Macbook Pro audio crackling

My MacBook audio started having crackling noises when I watch vids. pressing down on parts of the laptop don't help so I know there is nothing loose. You can still hear the audio but the sound does have the vibrating noise. The sound is ok when I use a bluetooth speaker. I have tried these options

  1. I have updated my MacBook
  2. I have run the first aid in the Utility Disc section

Any other suggestions on how to fix this?

Hey, thoshbabie,

Thanks for visiting the Apple Support Communities. From your post, I understand that the quality of the sound from your internal MacBook Pro speakers isn't quite as clear as you expect. Specifically, there is a crackling/vibrating noise that does not occur with bluetooth speakers. I'm happy to help!

Based on what you've describe, I would recommend setting up a new user account and seeing if the audio issues continue there. The steps outlined in How to test an issue in another user account on your Mac - Apple Support will help you get that set up, and let you know what to do next if the issue does not occur in the test account.

If the issue continues in a test user, don't hesitate to respond back. If you do, please include a little more information about the situation. For example, does it occur only with videos, or does it occur with all audio (including notifications and alerts)? If it's only videos, does it occur in all videos from all sources (multiple websites, multiple web browsers, and other apps like iTunes) or just a specific source (it only occurs with videos on YouTube and only when you use the Safari browser)? Also include your current macOS version and Mac model, both of which you can find under the Apple  menu > About This Mac > Example: macOS Mojave Version 10.14.1, MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015).

Cheers!
