Keynote - Exporting Recorded Slideshow deleted soundtrack

Created a recorded slideshow that had a soundtrack. Playback works fine.

Exported the recorded slideshow and had no audio.

1) How do I export with soundtrack audio (always did so in the past)

2) How do I lay in the audio (soundtrack) using Quicktime Player (also do-able in the past)?

I suppose I could go into iMovie and lay in the audio, but seems like overkill.

Interested if folks know other tools that I might try.

I dont have this problem with any version of Keynote or Mac OS

You need to supply more information to fill in some gaps:

What version of Keynote and Mac OS are you using?
What filetype did you export to?
Explain what you mean by "lay in the audio (soundtrack) using Quicktime Player"

placing a sound file into Soundtrack is enabled by dragging and dropping a sound file from a Finder window, no other application is needed:

Mac -

File exported as .m4v

I have the soundtrack in the Keynote version. Recoding plays fine in Keynote. The soundtrack was not included in the exported m4v video

Tried all save formats - always had video with no sound.

Second part - tried to use Quicktime Player to lay the soundtrack back on the video (used to be able to do so).

seems no way to do this.

When I opened mic for voice over the soundtrack was picked up.

So the export only carries the voice-over, not the soundtrtack.

Other issues is the build on slides from prior keynote version A) play when running in Keynote and B) get thrown as end of slide without builds. Some did (new) and others did not (prior).

Anyway am proceeding.
