IPhone X water indicator

I am trying to upgrade to the iPhone XS Max and Tmobile is telling me I need to pay an insurance claim because they’re seeing red in the lightning port. I don’t see anything in there and I only knew of the moisture indicator in the sim slot. My sim slot is white. Because it’s never even been near water. I just want to verify they’re not trying to make me file an insurance claim for no reason. They did not even look in the sim slot. Any help is appreciated. If there is an indicator in the charge port I would be willing to accept that it could actually be tripped from humidity or sweating in pockets. Thanks

Thanks that’s exactly what I found too. I think they’re trying to get me for an additional $200 insurance charge.

Yes. Hopefully it’s out of ignorance. Perhaps sharing the article with them will end the drama.

Or perhaps there’s a way for you to simply purchase the iPhone X from T-Mobile and then sell (trade) it yourself. You can always buy a T-Mobile iPhone XS Max directly from Apple.
