Apple TV 4k WiFi connection issues solved

Been battling the search for the reason after my Apple TV has been active and working and running at 300mb/s delivering fast speeds and beautiful video quality. It will just drop down to a staggering 60mb/s. Then buffering and lower resolution occurs. ”Solution” restart the Apple TV or hook it up to Ethernet. In my opinion this is Not a solution and just stupid. My phone has no issues holding a connection and I don’t have to restart my phone daily or every time I wake it up from the lock screen to get my WiFi speed back. So what is the issue?

wifi interference? Yes that can be an issue but after you do everything possible to remove the interference and you think yes I fixed it you turn on your show and it’s blurry and buffering and you get upset That you have to restart the Apple TV again.

Router settings or Router WiFi abilities? If you cant send fast enough WiFi speeds then you have an issue. Also if you messed with your router settings and made them all fancy make sure you allow that Apple TV special permissions then so that it is always connected to the network. but even after all that you ended up restarting the Apple TV again.

So I have figured it out. I have changed my channels and done everything to try and eliminate interference. I made sure all my settings were basic default settings on my router.

I finally started to document through air port utility which network it was connected to when I received 300mb/s and when I would receive 60mb/s.

I am using an air port extreme which simultaneously gives 2.4ghz and 5.0ghz on a single SSID network. When my speeds drop it have been in correlation with it being connected to the 2.4ghz bands 802.11b/g/n. When I reboot it will automatically join back to the 5.0ghz bands 802.11a/n/ac.

The best solution is to just Ethernet my Apple TV to constantly receive Direct connection or split my network SSID to give two different connections and only connect it to my 5.0ghz network.

i feel like Apple needs to address this issue because my phone never has an issue And it keeps its connection and speed during the night and then I wake up and it’s still working perfectly fine but my Apple TV has to be restarted in the morning every morning.
