I am trying to use my Time Capsule to extend the existing wifi network (the base station is Huaway E5186s-61a). For some reason the Time Capsule fails to discover the existing network and does not allow me to set up extension mode. I was trying entering the network name manually but this does not work, and after saving settings the Time Capsule disappears and requires resetting.
Any suggestions?
Extend only works with another apple router.. you cannot use any airport to extend wireless from another brand. Apple use propriety systems.
The only way to do this is to link it via ethernet.. or use Powerline adapters to the Huawei router.
