The new MacBook Air (2018) powers up when you open the lid or press any key or the trackpad. The terminal command 'sudo nvram AutoBoot=%00' still works to disable power-on when raising the lid but it doesn't stop power on when pressing any key or the trackpad. I only want power-on when I press the power key; is there a secret new terminal command that will enable this for the new MacBook Air?

It it magically powers on when opening the lid after being shut down, not just in standby, then make an appointment at the genius bar and have it checked. Something is drastically wrong.
It's definitely powered off and as I mentioned, the terminal command to disable power-on when raising the lid still works. Given that, I'd hope there's a new terminal command to disable power on when pressing keys or trackpad.
Is it powering on or waking from sleep? If it's waking from sleep, as opposed to powering on from a 'shut down' state, this is completely normal.
I don't believe there is any way to prevent it from doing so.
actually the newer MacBooks powering on when the lid is raised is an Apple feature - see How to turn your Mac on or off - Apple Support but can be disabled by the terminal command mentioned above. However the latest MacBook Air also turns on when pressing any key or trackpad; don't like that.
