I just heard (2/7/2109) from my audiologist, who says that Phonak will have a firmware fix to be released the week of February 25, 2019 that is supposed to fix the communication issue with iPhone XS. The release is in a software program audiologists use, called Target that allows them to update firmware in Phonak devices.

Check with your audiologist and make an appointment to have the firmware updated. Hopefully all of us on the "bleeding edge" of Phonak's technology will get the performance we were promised when we purchased.

I have the Phonak Marvel working well with the iPhone Xs. Had to get the firmware upgraded to 6.0.2. It’s been working flawlessly for 8 days now. My only complaint is that I need to take out my phone and use the phone app or Siri to INITIALIZE a call. Handling incoming calls is easy, just a touch on the button behind my right ear.

I’ve also installed the Phonak app. I don’t this this is relevant. I only use it to adjust volume sometimes.

The first time the audiologist did the firmware upgrade, it did not work. He said something about being rushed and not saving it to the hearing aids. He made sure he did a save when I returned in a few days, and the second time it worked perfectly. There is also a bandwidth setting that is presumably important.

The Phonak folks are convinced this upgrade fixes the Xs problem, so their field rep and a supervisor were set to visit the audiologist when I was there to make sure the device was properly configured. That turned out to be unnecessary.

Jimeg : the same happened to me after update being made last week.

I was so pussed off that I was nearly ready to give them back.

in fact the audiologists is talways know that there is a setting to check on phonak target 6.0.2 about Bluetooth bandwidth: fixed or variable.

The fixed option has to be picked before upgrading your HA or else the problem will remain.

Just go back to your specialist and ask him to do that.

Now everything is going fine and I’m very happy with my Marvels.

I literally just left my audiologist and this discussion popped into my inbox. I'm now running 6.0.2 and everything is working great. Apparently the firmware let's audiologist adjust the bandwidth for the Bluetooth chip in the hearing aids. The way the aids were delivered had the hearing aids at the edge of the useful range. Or so I was told.

So, can confirm. 6.0.2 fixes the issues.

Like everyone else my phone connectivity issue was solved by the firmware update, in my situation it took 2 attemps, but, when fixed bandwidth option was selected by my audiologist for the reinstallation they now work fine. After picking them up, when I turned the hearing aids on, bluetooth connections were restored automatically and everything worked with no further steps required from me.

Hi,

I just had the update to my Phonak Marvel M30R and pairing with iPhone X iOS 12.1.4 now works :)

Could never pair bluetooth streaming. Apparently Apple changed the codec that you have to use for bluetooth hands free devices

Phonak Target version 6.0.2

Yay!!!
