QuickTime 7.1.5 Gets ? in Q; can not play

QUICKTIME.Go to advanced and uncheck ENABLE
FLASH.Then log back onto Comcast thru Safri.It worked

never mind - I did the preferences mime thing and restarted, all seems okay now ... I'll keep my fingers crossed!

Quick time does not open in Safari with me also. Its been this way for 2 months or so. Apple/safari have a problem. Why don't they fix it? I am using Opera browser mostly now and QT works fine. No Q with ?

I use Safari and Flip4Mac for WMV content. For the most part, everything plays fine, but video sometimes won't play for various reasons, like DRM protection, or a weird wmv format.

Make sure your OS is completely up to date, and Flash. Post a link to any specific site that isn't streaming well and I can see what it does on my Mac....if you want.

I realize that this post is buried under six pages of other posts...but...I tried all the suggestions posted to no avail...however, the latest version of QT 7.2 appears to have fixed everything-!!

Excellent! I unchecked the "Play Flash Content" in the QuickTime preferences, logged out and back in, and now all works well again.

It is odd that quicktime does not play well with newer versions of Flash. Would have never thought of that. I usually like to keep it checked on so i do not have to have to many plugins installed, but in this case, i will have to make sure that both flash and quicktime are kept up to date.

Try reinstalling flash and/or shockwave players. 'Worked for me. Good luck.

been reading threads from a month ago and now I'm having the same problem after downloading the latest update - the ? appears in my firefox browser on multiple pages and I have never encountered this problem before

I've tried a number of suggestions from previous posts but to no avail...

any news from the apple front?

I even updated Flip4Mac and Flash Player, and did the garage band and midi thingy, and nothing is helping! I only updated today because I wanted to purchase Quicktime Pro. I'm a filmmaker and I need to view movies on the internet! Quicktime was operating on Safari, before I upgraded that, so how's THAT for an additional problem?

Okay!

Now, I upladed Opera, and the quicktime 7.2 works with it (it did just now, but for how long?), so what's the deal? I have 4 other browsers that are not working, yet one is. Can it be a browser problem? I had no problem with the slightly older version of quicktime on any browser!

Is Apple on top of this? I really need help!

Yay!

I got all my browsers working. After talking to a totally useless Apple tech guy, I went to do some more research and I found from some site that said that someone had simply removed their VLC Plugin.plugin and their Quicktime Plugin.plugin from their root library folder, internet plugins and the problem was gone.

I didn't have a VLC Plugin.plugin, but I 'did' have the Quick Time one and I trashed it. The browsers have to be disconnected to do this, okay? Anyway, now all seems back to normal...

I hope that this works for all of you who are having the same problem with movies and other things on browsers!

boy am I glad I found this forum.....thought it was me that had done something....same problem as you....quicktime unable to play either on firefox or safari....just get the Q and a ?....had updated ff to 2.05 and QT to 7.2 (pro) recently and done some housework cleaning and clearing my disc.....and now it .....anyway

Please tell me, in simple moron steps...how do i sort it...note you state root library etc but how do i get to it....
