Anyone hook up Apple TV to a video projector yet?

Just wondering.

MacBook Pro 2.16GHz / 2GB RAM / 100GB 7200rpm HD, Mac OS X (10.4.8), Mac mini 1.42GHz / 1GB RAM

My ATV is hooked up to my non-HD projector using component cables to VGA with a 480p resolution. It works fine, just had to set projector in 16:9 mode so that things didn't look squished. It's a temp solution as I'm getting an HD projector to replace this one soon, but it works.

update: I tried the automatic resolution search by pressing "menu" & "+", but it goes on forever. I use component, next thing I try is hdmi.

I tried to perform a factory reset w/o having visual control. I am not sure it worked:
when pressing "menu" and "-" yellow blinking starts. According to the manual I then have to chose the language and a menu of three items appears. So I pressed "play" for the language and the 2 times downward and "play" again.
Is this the way to do it?

If you any other ideas, I would appreciate some navigation .
