iTunes 11.1 doesn't recognize my iPhone 4s with IOS 7 - phone is charging by iTunes doesn't see it. Any suggestions?

I upgraded my daughter's iMac to iTunes 11.1 and now it doesn't recognize her iPhone 4s. The phone will charge and DropBox see's it but iTunes doesn't. Any suggestions? I've already uninstalled and reinstalled the software so that doesn't work. Thanks for any help!

I have this problem too and I've spent hours looking through these discussions. I got a new mac book air and when I connect my iphone 5, it says it cannot work because it requires Itunes 11.1.1. So I installed the latets Itunes on my PC (from which I'm attempting to export my itunes library), and it still comes up with the same error message. I also the latets ios7 on my iphone. Why is there answer to this I can't keep reinstalling everyhting x

How does installing iTunes 11.1.1 on your PC, resolve an error message from your new MBA to upgrade iTunes. And if the MBA had not recognized the iPhone 5, it would not have required you update iTunes. It might have given you a notice that an update was available, but not required it.

Since it is a new MacBook Air, call AppleCare and ask them to help you move the library over from the PC. Or make an appointment at the Genius Bar and ask them how, but it would be easier with you at home with both computers booted up and networked.

I did a quick search of Apple Support and it does not jump out at me.

It might be as simple as copying over the iTunes library by network or thumbdrive. Or re-downloading your purchases, using the same Apple ID as from your PC.

Not having a PC, I'm not the best help there.

Enjoy your MBA.

I am checking for software updates now... but last time I did that, it said I was all up to date.

To see if restoring my phone, I backed my iphone to icloud using WIFI (only option for backing it up because my Mac book pro will not recognize my iphone... ) and then restored it... It took ages as I am in a country with slow internet. This did nothing to help the issue.

This is clearly an issue for many people and Apple can wake up...

Furthermore, my 'Music' thanks to IOS7 now makes no sense to me.... IOS7 is a disaster

Amazing. As soon as I saw Mario's response I told my son - "the next 10 replies are going to tell Mario what a (insert your favorite synonym for donkey here) he is." He knew when he wrote this response that it wasn't going to help anyone. Yet he wrote it anyhow. For years I've been told that Microsoft is the devil but whenever my kids ask me to download a song for them on apple or do anythig else for them on apple the first thing I do is set aside 2 precious hours because nothing is ever simple with them. Guess this time I'll ave to spend t hours going to their store. Why? Because I had the audacity of wanting to download more songs to my kids new i-phone.

I'm running 11.1.3 (8) and until today, everything but my iPad worked great (iPad 2 charged and mounted but got a not charging error). However, suddenly, today my iMac doesn't recognize my iPhone 5's existence. I've tried rebooting bot the phone and the computer, using different cables and I've run out of ideas. When I plug my phone in iTunes doesn't initialize either. Strangely, my phone does charge so something works.

All my software is updated and I'm on a year old iMac with the new OSX. Ideas?

Thanks...

Huh... wish I would have known about this. I just did the update a couple days ago... Seems like this should be fixed already... must I really research every update apple offers before accepting it? Thought that was what Beta Testing was for... Super frustrated since I'm stuck in a car for 7 hours and have no way of putting music on my iphone now. 😠 #apple 😟
